Dear Nicole, Thank you for the kind and thoughtful comment. I'm happy that the poem & drawing connected with you. The drawing was partly generated out of pondering how my own hesitancy to be around groups of people could change in the future.
Your drawing and poem inspired a minor epiphany: "We are all one" and "everything is connected" I usually see as literal but in these pandemic times, the best way to show we're all connected is by staying apart. I wonder if it's hard to take the literal figuratively when we really can't "be" with other people. And I wonder if we every really could be. Perhaps only art can make that figurative literal.
