I must admit that my experiences with you inthe P NW really formulated my views on nature in so many ways. Your writing feels like picking up a conversation we dropped awhile ago. This project really inspired me!
Dear Rachel,
Your monster bees made me think of this: My forest is turning against me. In the winter, it is perfect. Human and wasp free. But the minute the temperature turns 90 in the valley, the climate refuges head to Flagstaff, park at the end of Butler, and walk their dogs off leash or on leash—I don’t care except that please take your dogs to some other forest where I am not.
I have become 100% misanthropic and also waspanthropic during the pandemic. I am a big fan of bees. There are wasps that dig mud holes in the forest trails and, like the people from Phoenix, wait until I walk by and then go out of their way…
