Heidi, this is an excerpt of a piece I wrote in 2018, which is a paraphrase of our national anthem on black keys only. (It was originally composed for kneeling pianist and dedicated to Colin Kaepernick.) I'll include a link to a friend of mine performing it. But it's no longer a political statement in this context. :)
Like all good poems, this is sheer music. We are lucky you came out from under your metaphorical blanket to write this and to play this. I'm singing the music in my head. I'm sticking my head out from under my metaphorical blanket to listen harder.
